By: Mikey PesquedaI remember being taken out of school on this day 18 years ago. Fear and horror filled the United States as terrorists crashed hijacked planes into the Twin Towers. Many lives were impacted by this terrible event and many lives lost because of it. Today I am thankful to God for the lives that he protected from this event and the ones who lost their lives trying to save others. There are a couple of things that come to my mind when I think of 9/11 and want to share each of them with you.
The Lord will bring justice Psalm 37:27-29 “Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. For the Lord loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell upon it forever.” This was a dark thing that happened in America and even though we would like to see justice for it now, we will also see justice for it in heaven. Our God is just and will bring eventual justice for those who were affected by this event. Knowing this should bring some peace to our hearts because God will not leave sin unpunished. Pray for their salvation In our hearts we justly want justice for the crimes of those who did this act but we should also want them to come to faith in Jesus. This might be a difficult thing to hear for some of us but we should be praying that those who participated in this would ultimately repent and surrender their lives to Jesus. What a testimony that would be! Similar to the testimony of Paul who killed Christians before he became a believer. These people need Jesus just as much as we do and we should seek to bring them to Christ. Pray for the salvation for unbelievers who have been affected by this day. This day brings up a lot of hurt for people who lost love ones and for some of them they might say this is the reason they don’t believe in Jesus. Pray for their salvation and that God would work a miracle in their lives. Pray that they would want to know God and seek him. Our God is a healer and it is only through his love that they will be healed and comforted in the areas that they need. One day every knee will bow… Philippians 2:10-11, “So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” There is coming a day where all this pain and suffering will be no more. Look to that day brothers and sisters in Christ. We don’t live that things will get better here but we live for the hope that Jesus is coming again and will make all things new! Comments are closed.
